A little about me.....
BIO.
Lorna Lightle ~ Freelance Artist ~ www.thecreativescot.com
I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, even in school ditching technical drawing and picking up extra art classes....
While nannying for a La Grange family I had been asked to do some chalk art for a party at Odgen school. From there I was approached by a member of the La Grange Business Association to paint a 12ft fiberglass Giraffe for the Pet Parades Summer Art Exhibit. That was in 2006 and Ive been painting for the local merchants every year, every Summer.
From that art, then came the Goombay Bash held at Navy Pier each year, this event raises money for Cancer Research. Each year I painted huge patio umbrellas that got auctioned off at the event after being displayed around the grand ballroom.
I was also honored in 2013 to be asked by Q-bbq to paint one of the Great Chicago Fire Hydrants for CFD exhibit, which was displayed outside the Hancock Building. Most recently painting 3 pieces for the Chicago K9s downtown.
I also design logos, create recycled pieces or paint items to bring life back into them.
In 2013 I took the La Grange Citizens Police Academy class and have been a part of the Alumni ever since. Donating my time to help the Police at local events. Since then also the CPA class with La Grange Park Police Department. With a partnership with Westchester PD I also hosted an event about A Parents Guide to Cyber Safety with my FB page, PAT - Parents Against Tricksters.
For the past 2-3yrs I've helped at Magnificent Mutts, a wonderful foster based rescue from Hillside that's run by Linda Hansen Latelle and many volunteers & also The Chicago Bird Collision Monitors with bird rescues/transports.
All this and work as a FT Nanny which I'm very proud of, assisting families and helping to nurture over 25 children in my career.

Once Upon A Time in 2005....
........there was a chalk drawing that made the local paper, which lead to a phone call, that turned into a Chi-raffe, multiplying into 2 Elephants (EL-ephant & Ele-Plant), that tripled into 3 Adirondack Chairs (for Urban Sole/Roly Poly/La Grange Theater), that turned into 4 Easels (2 Eschers, a Van Gogh and a Hopper) , ETC ETC they go on auction for various local charities.

I also have a collection of children's verses to help in every day life. These poems are easier to remember since they are in verse, I've used them for many years with the kids I've nannied for, most remember them to this day. One day, I'd love for them to get published to help other children along generations.
Someone once referred to me as "Martha Stewart meets Bob Villa meets Supernanny".... only you can decide :)
